Peter Hughes

Peter is an accomplished visual artist with a beautiful style that is both quiet and powerful to the viewer. He produces exquisitely executed works with specialisations in portraiture and still life and is a multifaceted and inspiring artisan.

His still life paintings are wonderfully vibrant and unique in style and his portraits boast an extraordinary depth.

Peter studied visual art at UniSA and Adelaide Art School and majored in Printmaking, Drawing and Sculpture. He went on to study Oil Painting at Adelaide Central School of Art and has more recently continued his professional development with acclaimed Auburn artist Nona Burden.

With over 40 years of experience living and teaching art in secondary schools across the mid north of SA and setting up and operating a pottery studio in the Docker River region he has much to offer our region.

Peter brings a unique and refreshing aspect to art in general and his work is a valuable contribution to Sollys Shed.
